Professional Experience:

Carter R. Buller is of counsel in the Philadelphia law firm of Montgomery, McCracken, Walker & Rhoads, LLP. He served as chairman of the firm from 1992 to 1996 and held many prior management positions with the firm. He is the founder and former chair of the firm's Employment Law Department where he continues his practice representing employers in labor and employment matters.

Mr. Buller has extensive experience in the steel and automotive parts industry and in the retail business industry.

Professional Activities:           

Mr. Buller is a member of the Board of Trustees of Jefferson Health System, and chairman of its Clinical Affairs Committee, a trustee of Thomas Jefferson University Hospital and chairman of the Methodist Hospital Division Committee of Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. He was the 1998 recipient of the Dr. Scott Stewart Award from the Methodist Hospital Foundation.

Mr. Buller serves as secretary and treasurer of the Sunday Breakfast Club, an organization comprised of business and professional leaders in the Delaware Valley.

Mr. Buller served as the chairman of the Philadelphia Orchestra Millennium Task Force formed to deal with major issues arising out of the 1996 Orchestra strike. He is the past president of the Industrial Relations Research Association of Philadelphia.  He is a member and former chairman of the Committee of Seventy and former member of the Executive Committee of the Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce. In 1994, he was the recipient of the Spirit of Life Award awarded for his work in the field of labor-management relations by the City of Hope Medical Center.

Mr. Buller is a member of the American, Pennsylvania and Philadelphia Bar Associations.

Admitted to Practice:

Mr. Buller is admitted to practice before the Pennsylvania Supreme Court, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, the United States Third Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States Supreme Court.

Education:

Mr. Buller is a 1955 graduate of the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs at Princeton University.  He received his J.D. degree from Yale University Law School in New Haven, Connecticut in 1961.
