Tricia J. Sadd is an associate in the Litigation Department of Montgomery McCracken. She is co-chair of the firm's Sustainable Business practice. Her practice concentrates on a variety of sustainable business, commercial litigation, real estate, and technology matters.
Ms. Sadd is certified by the U.S. Green Building Council as a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Accredited Professional, or "LEED® AP." The U.S. Green Building Council provides a suite of standards for environmentally sustainable construction.
She is a recipient of the Star Volunteer for the year by The Sustainable Business Network of Greater Philadelphia (SBN).
Ms. Sadd authored the article "The FTC's Guides for the Use of Environmental Marketing Claims" which appeared in Going Green: Green Technology & Developments, a supplement to The Legal Intelligencer and Pennsylvania Law Weekly, June 2008; co-authored "Double Trouble for the Doublemint Trademark: The European Community Adopts a Broad Definition for ‘Descriptive,'" International Association of Defense Counsel Newsletter, November 2003; and "Fair Use as a Defense Under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act's Anti-Circumvention Provisions" which appeared in the George Mason Law Review, Winter 2001. Ms. Sadd has been quoted in a number of articles including "It's not easy being green- Will 'green certification' issues lead to litigation," Lawyersusaonline.com, September 2008, "Starting to Go Green," The Pennsylvania Lawyer, September/October 2008; "Greensheet - The Environmental Front of DC Real Estate," Real Estate BISNOW Electronic Newsletter, September 30, 2008; "Claims Vary as Firms Tap Green market," ConnPost.com, June 2008.
Ms. Sadd served as a presenter for the City of Philadelphia's 2005 Continuing Legal Education program, Life in the Big City. Her presentation addressed the First Amendment issues related to the regulation of outdoor advertising.
Ms. Sadd is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania.
Ms. Sadd received her J.D. degree, magna cum laude, from George Mason University School of Law in 2002. While in law school, Ms. Sadd served as the Production Editor for the George Mason Law Review. She received an M.A., with honors, from Bethany Theological Seminary and graduated from Messiah College in 1993 with a B.A. degree.
