John G. Papianou is a partner in the Litigation Department of Montgomery, McCracken, Walker & Rhoads, LLP. His practice concentrates on commercial litigation and, in particular, the defense of nationwide class action litigation. Since 2001, Mr. Papianou has represented Microsoft Corporation in numerous class actions in federal and state courts, including indirect-purchaser antitrust cases and litigation alleging breach of warranty, unfair competition, unjust enrichment, and statutory consumer protection claims. In addition, Mr. Papianou has represented defendants in the chemical and paint industries in antitrust and consumer protection class actions. Mr. Papianou is also a frequent speaker at continuing legal education programs on class action litigation.
Mr. Papianou serves on the executive committee of the Young Lawyers Division of the Philadelphia Bar Association. He also serves as the vice president of the American Hellenic Lawyers Association.
Mr. Papianou is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania.
Mr. Papianou received his J.D. degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Law in 2001. He graduated from Long Island University, summa cum laude, with a B.A. degree in 1996.
