Eric Chang is a member of the firm’s Maritime and Transportation practice group.

Prior to joining Montgomery McCracken, Eric was an associate at a New York law firm that specialized in transportation and regulatory law, where he handled general litigation and maritime matters. He has represented clients in the defense of claims for damage/lost cargo carried on container ships and cargo ships on ocean and intermodal rail/track carriage. Eric drafted memorandums of law and briefs and has argued motions in State and Federal courts. He prepared and negotiated provisions in bills of lading for non-vessel operating common carrier clients. Eric has also submitted petitions to U.S. Customs & Border Protection to remit penalties assessed against ship carriers.

Prior to his legal career, Eric worked as a Technical Director for a risk management software company, where he collaborated with clients and investment firms to assess investment management agreements prior to encoding onto a technical database in compliance with SEC regulations.

Eric received a J.D. from Brooklyn Law School in 2008 and earned a B.S., in Business Administration from the University of California, Riverside, in 2004.
