Gerald J. Corcoran is a partner in the Litigation department and co-chair of the firm’s Product Liability, Toxic Torts and Catastrophic Events practice. Jerry practices primarily in the area of civil litigation. His civil litigation practice focuses on utility representation, pharmaceutical class action and mass tort matters and complex commercial cases. He has served as local counsel for pharmaceutical clients in mass tort products liability matters and an AWP class action. He has a variety of trial experience in state and federal court.

Prior to joining Montgomery McCracken, Jerry served as managing shareholder, Litigation section chairman and board member of Youngblood Corcoran Lafferty & Hyberg, P.A. His litigation experience includes representing electric and gas utilities in complex personal injury matters. He represents insured and self-insured clients in the areas of tort and products liability law.

Jerry is certified by the New Jersey Supreme Court as a Certified Civil Trial Attorney.

Selected Representations

  • With considerable and varied experience in municipal law, Jerry served as a solicitor for the City of Ocean City for many years and has represented a number of other municipalities, boards, agencies and boards of education on a variety of issues. He has specific experience in municipal representation and immunities provided public entities under the New Jersey Tort Claims Act.
  • Jerry successfully argued before the New Jersey Supreme Court, the City of Cape May’s position in Fleur v. City of Cape May, a case dealing with immunities available to public entities for bathing and recreational use of the ocean and beaches.
