Jeffery D. Dayon is co-chair of the firm’s Real Estate practice group. He has more than 30 years of experience primarily engaging in complex real estate transactions. Jeffery advises private lenders, small and large privately held real estate operating companies, investors and high wealth individuals on planning, structuring and executing highly complex real estate and corporate transactions, commercial leasing, and sophisticated financing transactions including securitized mortgages, multi-tranche mezzanine loans and preferred equity transactions.  He is active in development transactions including those involving hotels and has extensive experience in negotiating both hotel management and franchise agreements with major hotel flags.

Jeffery also counsels his clients on investments in real property, and advises on issues of appropriate form of organization, business plans, stockholder, partnership and operating agreements, commercial transactions, joint ventures agreements, tenancies in common and other strategic partnerships, restructurings, workouts, and dispute resolution.

Academic Achievements

Jeffery received a J.D. degree, magna cum laude, from Touro College Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center in 1985, where he was the research editor for Touro Law Review and a member of the Moot Court Board. He earned a LL.M. in Taxation from New York University in 1986 and graduated with a B.B.A., cum laude, in Finance from Baruch College in 1982.
