Biography
John M. Myers is a partner in Montgomery McCracken’s Litigation Department and is Chair of the Higher Education practice group. He has been with the firm for nearly 20 years. Prior to Montgomery McCracken, John was a public defender, Chief Deputy City Solicitor of Philadelphia and a partner at another law firm. He is experienced in partnership, closely held business disputes, and matters involving employment, real estate, lender liability, joint ventures, securities industry disputes, contract negotiation, and general business counsel including contractual and employment matters. In his work with higher education institutions, John has dealt with tenured and non-tenured faculty disputes, intellectual property, general liability, death claims, ethics, University and student policies, Clery Act and general employment litigation matters. He has served as an investigator, trainer, hearing officer, and appellate officer in Title IX for universities and has been a front-line participant in large institutional crisis management, both in government and the private sector. He is also a teacher and lecturer to lawyers, law students, judges, professional organizations and el-hi students.
