Matthew A. Bondy serves as Of Counsel in Montgomery McCracken’s Litigation Department. He is an experienced and highly regarded litigator and transactional attorney.  Matthew regularly advises corporations, financial institutions, business executives and sophisticated real estate interests in litigation, mediation, arbitration, and negotiations.  He is experienced in a range of business matters including breaches of contract, fiduciary duties, fraud, partnership and shareholder disputes; real estate development, financing, purchases and sales, foreclosures, leasing, liens and zoning; and creditors’ rights, commercial collections, and general business and commercial controversies. In addition, Matthew has broad experience in trademark, copyright, trade secret, and other intellectual property related agreements and disputes.

Matthew is a former General Counsel to the New York City Mayor’s Office of Midtown Enforcement (now known as Special Enforcement),  where,  in his capacity as a designated Special Assistant Corporation Counsel, he also served as an advisor and litigation counsel to several New York City agencies.

He was a long time member of Manhattan Community Board 8, where he served at times throughout his term as the Co-Chair of several committees including the Small Business Committee, the Joint Committee of Community Boards 8 and 6 regarding the Bridge Market Master Lease, the Housing and Public Safety Committees, and as a member of several other committees including the 197-A Committee, the Street Life Committee, and the Vendor Task Force. During his term on CB8, Matthew was also the Board’s liaison to, and member of, the Board of Directors of the East Midtown Partnership, which awarded him the 2017 Distinguished Serve Award in recognition of 10 years of exemplary service to the East Midtown Community. He has also written, lectured, and organized public forums in the areas of trademark counterfeiting, consumer protection, rent regulation, identity theft, domestic violence, and financial crimes against seniors.
