Richard W. Hartmann has more than 30 years of extensive experience in corporate law, representing both for-profit and nonprofit entities, tax-exempt financing, corporate governance, regulatory and contract issues, as well as in trust and estate law. His nonprofit clients include health care facilities and retirement communities. Hartmann has served as a director on numerous nonprofit and foundation boards, as well as on for-profit boards.

Richard served as counsel to Brandywine Health Services in the sale of the nonprofit Brandywine Hospital to the for-profit Community Health Systems in matters involving redemption of all bonds. He represented a nonprofit health care provider in the sale of a controlled affiliate, its removal from the obligated group, and the refinance of outstanding bonds.

Prior to joining the firm, Richard spent nine years at the law firm of Davis, Riter, Parry & Hartmann, P.C. after starting his practice as a sole practitioner and establishing the law firm of Fiechter, Hartmann & Snite in 1986.

Academic Achievements

Richard graduated in 1972 with a J.D. degree from Dickinson School of Law, and received his B.A. degree from Bucknell University in 1969.
