Terrance James Reilly’s practice primarily involves working with registered investment companies, investment advisers, hedge funds, broker-dealers and other clients involved in the financial services industry.

For more than 20 years, Terry has been actively involved in all areas of the investment company industry advising clients regarding the Investment Company Act of 1940 and the Investment Advisers Act of 1940. His industry background has permitted him to provide his clients practical experience on the day-to-day management of mutual funds and their various service providers. Terry has extensive experience with the ongoing representation of several mutual fund complexes. In addition, Terry also has extensive experience with the organization, registration and on-going representation of registered broker – dealers and investment advisers, and the creation, offering and on-going representation of various unregistered investment products such as hedge funds and other private investment vehicles.

Before joining Montgomery McCracken, Terry was an associate with Greenberg Traurig, LLP where he assisted in organizing their investment management practice. At Greenberg Traurig, he advised investment companies, investment advisers, broker – dealers, financial service companies (such as fund administrators and transfer agents), and private investment companies (offshore and domestic, including hedge funds and private equity funds).

Previously Terry served as an associate at Drinker Biddle & Reath LLP. While there, he was involved in the organization and representation of master-feeder mutual fund complexes, an off-shore mutual fund complex, the organization and ongoing representation of several registered investment advisers, and the representation of several closed-end funds (including initial public offerings and subsequent rights offerings). Terry was actively involved with various fund mergers, consolidations and reorganizations. He also worked closely with several large bank proprietary mutual fund complexes.

Before becoming a lawyer, Terry was with FPS Services, Inc. (formerly Fund/Plan Services, Inc. and now PFPC Inc.) in its Mutual Fund Administration Department. His responsibilities there included managing the Regulatory Compliance and Corporate Business areas of the department. He was also in charge of the Fund Start-up Department. At FPS Services, Inc., Terry also supervised the organization of a broker – dealer and had his Series 6 and Series 63 licenses. Terry was also the Treasurer and Chief Financial Officer of a money market mutual fund.

Terry received a J.D. degree from Widener University School of Law in 1994. He earned a B.A. degree in English from St. Joseph’s University in 1984.
