Yi Lu is an associate in Montgomery McCracken’s Intellectual Property Department. He has over 15 years of experience in intellectual property law. Yi has experience in drafting and prosecuting patent applications and trademark registrations in the United States and internationally, with a focus in China. Yi also has experience in the domestic appliance, transportation, mechanical, and medical device industries.

Yi has been involved in nearly 20 patent invalidation proceedings before the Patent Reexamination Board (PRB) in China. Yi counsels clients in actively enforcing their IP rights against infringement in combination with the full spectrum of intellectual property, including patents, trademarks, copyrights, and unfair competition.

Prior to joining Montgomery McCracken, Yi was a patent agent at a Chicago-based law firm.

Yi earned his LL.M. degree, cum laude, from Northwestern Pritzker School of Law. He received a Masters in Mechanics and a B.S. degree in Engineering Mechanics from Tsinghua University.
