SUMMARY:Five Key Policies: Making Them Effective
DESCRIPTION:Montgomery McCracken of counsel Donald W. Kramer and partnerWilliam W. Keffer will be present a webinar on the IRS Form 990 on Tuesday\, May 17\, from 1:30 pm to 3:00 pm (EDT). Tish Mogan\, Standards for Excellence Director for Pennsylvania Association of Nonprofit Organization\, will also be joining the webinar.  \n \n\nThe Form 990 tax information return requires nonprofits to report whether they have a conflict of interest policy\, a whistleblower policy\, and a document retention and destruction policy. Potential donors\, the media\, and regulators have greater confidence when an organization responds “yes” to the policy questions.\n \n\nThe webinar will dive into these three policies\, plus a policy for setting compensation (to avoid excess benefits) and one for dealing with confidentiality of information. They will discuss the key components of each policy and study various sample policies to see how organizations can deal differently with different issues.\n \n\nThe webinar will also highlight policies promulgated and copyrighted by the Standards for Excellence Institute\, the national program for ethics and accountability in the nonprofit sector. The Standards were originally developed by Maryland Nonprofits and are being promoted nationally with 10 replication partners\, including the Pennsylvania Association of Nonprofit Organizations.\n \n\nThey will cover the following topics: conflict of interest\, whistleblower\, document retention\, compensation\, and confidentiality. \n \n\n For more information and to register for the webinar\, please click here. \n \n\nMay 17\, 2016 at 1:30 PM – 3:00 PM \n\n(215) 542-7547\nhttp://www.nonprofitissues.com/
