Montgomery, McCracken, Walker & Rhoads, LLP partner Christopher Scott D’Angelo was a Speaker at the Claims Administrators Conference in San Francisco on February 21-22.  This program, Distribution of Securities Litigation Settlements, sought to identify ways to improve the distribution and processing of class action settlement funds, through input from the SEC, federal judiciary, defense counsel, plaintiffs counsel, as well as claims administrators.

The IADC is the oldest international organization of attorneys representing major corporations and insurers. It is dedicated to the just and efficient administration of civil justice and the continual improvement of civil justice systems.  The IADC consists of approximately 2500 invitation-only, peer-reviewed members who are private, corporate and insurance lawyers from more than 31 countries.  It serves its members through networking, education, and professional opportunities, and likewise the civil justice system and the legal profession at large.  The IADC takes a leadership role in many areas of legal reform and professional development.

Christopher Scott D’Angelo is a partner in Montgomery McCracken’s Litigation Department and is chairman of its Products Liability & Mass Torts practice and vice chairman of its Sports, Entertainment & Amusements Law Practice.  His practice emphasizes litigation and preventive counseling in the fields of business and business torts, intellectual property, class actions, and products liability, including his role as national counsel for several major U.S. clients and his representation of foreign concerns in the United States and United States concerns abroad, as well as litigation and other matters in the probate courts.

Mr. D’Angelo is a member of The American Law Institute and several of its Members Consultative Groups, a member of the International Association of Defense Counsel (where he recently served on the Board of Directors and is a past Chairman of its Business Litigation Committee and past Vice Chairman of its International Committee), a member of the Product Liability Advisory Council (where he served on its Executive Committee), a member of the Defense Research Institute (where he served as the Chairman of its International Law Committee and as Co-Chairman of its European Corporate Outreach Committee), the Federation of Defense & Corporate Counsel (in particular, its Products Liability Committee and Business Litigation Committee), and of the American, Pennsylvania and Philadelphia Bar Associations. 

Mr. D’Angelo is listed in Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in American Law, and Who’s Who in the World, and in The International Who’s Who of Commercial Lawyers, The International Who’s Who of Product Liability Lawyers and the International Who’s Who of Trademark Lawyers.

Mr. D’Angelo is a frequent speaker and author on a range of law-related matters.  His presentations have involved such topics as products liability and business litigation, multi-national litigation, privacy issues, information and documents management, and issues involving the internet and the use of the internet in litigation and investigations.

Mr. D’Angelo received both his B.A. with distinction and with Honors in History (1975) and his J.D. (1978) from the University of Virginia.
