A New Jersey man filed a complaint in New York state court Thursday alleging that ideas he developed for a pair of Web ventures were stolen by an aggrieved investor and used to launch the popular social networking site Pinterest.com.
The complaint was filed by Theodore Schroeder, who claims to have originated the idea for sharing interests and content on a digital board through his work on Web projects Rendezvoo LLC and Skoop Media Associates Inc. Schroeder enlisted the help of angel investor Brian S. Cohen to further the projects, but Cohen stole the ideas and peddled them to the developers of Pinterest when the relationship went sour, according to the complaint…
Schroeder, Rendezvoo LLC and Skoop Media Assocates Inc. are represented by Charles Palella, Richard L. Scheff and Sidney S. Liebesman of Montgomery McCracken Walker & Rhoads LLP.
