Firm Adds Accomplished Attorney to Litigation Department

Montgomery McCracken today announced that Louis R. Moffa, Jr., will join the firm, effective May 16, as partner in the Litigation Department. Moffa brings more than 25 years of successful trial and appellate litigation experience, representing major corporations, banks, manufacturing firms, professional partnerships, construction companies and individuals. His practice at Montgomery McCracken will focus on complex commercial litigation especially in construction, employment discrimination, immigration and products liability matters. He will be based in Montgomery McCracken’s Cherry Hill office.

Most recently a partner with Ballard Spahr Andrews and Ingersoll, LLP, Moffa handled complex trial and appellate litigation in the areas of commercial and construction contracts, employment discrimination and wrongful termination, civil rights, partnership and corporate governance disputes and unfair competition. Prior to joining Ballard Spahr, he was a partner with Schnader Harrison Segal & Lewis LLP, where he managed the firm’s Cherry Hill office for ten years.

In addition to practice responsibilities, Moffa is also an adjunct professor at Rutgers University School of Law in Camden where he teaches courses in Civil Rights and Appellate Advocacy and Litigation.

Mr. Moffa is admitted in New Jersey, Pennsylvania and the District of Columbia.  He is also admitted to the U.S. Supreme Court, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia and the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland.

Moffa is a member of the American Bar Association, New Jersey Bar Association, District of Columbia Bar Association, and Camden County Bar Association. He is a trustee of the Camden County Bar Association and a trustee and secretary of the Camden County Bar Foundation. 

Moffa is 51 years old and is a native of Camden County, New Jersey.  He and his wife of twenty five years, Donna Siegel Moffa, Esquire, and their two sons Anthony and David, reside in Cherry Hill, New Jersey.  Moffa is a trustee and vice chairman of the Board of the Camden County College Foundation.

Moffa received his B.S., magna cum laude, from Georgetown University and his J.D., magna cum laude, from Georgetown University Law Center, where he was an editor of Law and Policy in International Business, the Georgetown International Law Journal.
