Ernest D. Holtzheimer Appointed as Technology Chair of the Private Equity and Venture Capital Committee of the ABA Business Law Section

PHILADELPHIA, PA – Montgomery McCracken is pleased to announce that Ernest D. Holtzheimer has been appointed technology chair of the Private Equity and Venture Capital Committee of the American Bar Association Business Law Section. The mission of the Private Equity and Venture Capital Committee is to leverage its diverse, active and experienced U.S. and international membership, and relationships with other Business Law Section Committees, to provide a unique and highly educational forum for private equity and venture capital practitioners of all experience levels to exchange views and information on current and emerging legal and practical issues, trends and developments and practice considerations of specific interest or relevance to private equity and venture capital funds, and their investment transactions, portfolio companies and investors.

In addition to being a member of the American Bar Association Business Law Section, Holtzheimer is also a member of the American Bar Association Tort Trial and Insurance Practice Section, in which he serves as vice chair of the Business Litigation Committee and vice chair of the Diversity and Inclusion Committee.

Holtzheimer is an associate in Montgomery McCracken’s Litigation Department and a member of the firm’s Diversity Committee. He combines an active litigation practice with a transactional and business advisory practice to assist clients, including individuals, mid-sized and emerging companies, multinational corporations, and investors on a wide variety of matters. Focusing in the technology, education, life sciences, and financial services industries, Holtzheimer counsels businesses at every stage of their lifecycle, from entity formation to exit. This includes litigation, angel and venture capital financing transactions, intellectual property protection, mergers and acquisitions, corporate partnerships, joint ventures and other general corporate matters. He represents the seed, venture capital, private equity, institutional, and strategic investors that help finance business growth. Holtzheimer serves on advisory boards for an institutional venture fund and an international angel investment group. He writes and speaks frequently on topics such as planning profitable exit strategies and obtaining angel and venture capital financing for early-stage companies. Holtzheimer also serves as editor of Montgomery McCracken’s Private Business Counsel blog.

Holtzheimer received his J.D. degree, cum laude, from Drexel University Thomas R. Kline School of Law, with a Business and Entrepreneurship Concentration. He earned an M.B.A. degree in Finance and B.S. degrees, cum laude, in Entrepreneurship and Business Management with a focus on International Studies, from Rowan University William G. Rohrer College of Business.
