Executive Chairman Richard L. Scheff Named President of the Partnership for After School Education (PASE)

June 7, 2017

NEW YORK – Montgomery McCracken is pleased to announce executive chairman Richard L. Scheff has been named president of the Partnership for After School Education (PASE). PASE is a child-focused organization that promotes and supports quality afterschool programs, particularly those serving young people from underserved communities. An innovative pioneer in the development and advancement of the afterschool field, PASE was formed in 1993 to professionalize afterschool services so that providers could deliver consistent, high-quality programming to youth and increase their capacity to meet the needs of their communities. PASE is committed to providing the more than 1,600 organizations in its network with the support they need to provide the 500,000 young people in New York City’s afterschool programs with the high-quality services they deserve.

Scheff has served on PASE’s board of directors since June 2012. “Over the past several years, I’ve had the privilege of working closely with the PASE staff and the organization’s mission is incredibly important to me,” said Scheff. “I am honored to take on this new role and I look forward to continuing to support its initiatives. Without the hard work of PASE and the many community organizations it supports, many children would not have the opportunities to realize the American Dream.”

Earlier this year, Scheff was also elected to the board of directors of Philadelphia VIP to serve a three-year term. Philadelphia VIP was founded in 1981 by the Philadelphia Bar Association and Community Legal Services to meet the legal needs of low-income Philadelphians by recruiting and training attorneys to provide pro bono legal services. Additionally, he serves on the board of trustees of Gettysburg College and the dean advisory council and University Alumni Council of Suffolk University Law School.

Scheff focuses his practice on government and corporate investigations with a special emphasis on pharmaceutical and medical device companies and the financial services industry. He has extensive experience on False Claims Act matters, off-label promotion, pricing issues, compliance programs, CFPB enforcement matters, securities fraud, insider trading and civil fraud and other white collar criminal and fraud matters. Scheff graduated, cum laude, from Gettysburg College in 1977 and received his law degree, cum laude, from Suffolk University Law School in Boston in 1981.
