Montgomery McCracken announced today the launch of its Digital Crisis Management Practice Group, an innovative practice providing crisis management counsel to companies nationwide.

The multi-disciplinary team of attorneys offers skilled legal advice to clients to help them prepare for and manage digital crises requiring an emergency response. Clients have on-demand access to the group of emergency-trained attorneys 24/7 through a Rapid Response Line.

“It is of paramount importance that our clients have immediate access to counsel at the onset of a crisis and that’s what this group is trained to handle,” said co-chair Ashley R. Lynam. “We understand the anatomy of a crisis and are ready to manage, contain and control its potential effects on a company’s reputation and brand.”

Co-chair Jeremy D. Mishkin added, “I view this group as an essential part of the full range of services we deliver for clients who are working in an increasingly online environment, who need to manage the risks that come with the virtual territory.  We can help them implement cost-effective preventive steps now, and be prepared to jump in when lightning strikes.”

“We are continuously adapting to the changing environment to better serve our clients in a time when they need us most,” co-chair Kendra Baisinger commented. “The practice is comprised of highly skilled and trained attorneys who are ready to assist our clients.”

The Digital Crisis Management practice works in conjunction with the firm’s Sexual Misconduct Liability, Institutional Response, and E-Commerce practices. The group’s services include:

  • Our unique Rapid Response Line 1-800 contact number, provides immediate access to a team of trained attorneys ready to assist not only with legal issues but also in coordinating media management, public appearances and official responses to digital crises.
  • Consultation to prepare for and avoid crises, including working with in-house counsel, C-suite executives, public relations specialists, and human relations departments to create emergency resources, capture institutional values and norms in company mission statements, policies, and procedures.
  • Internal investigation services with interim protection measures including conducting interviews, collecting information and evidence, and preparing advisory opinions related to alleged conduct.
  • Litigation to prosecute or defend against claims such as arising from alleged tortious conduct, including defamation, invasion of privacy, discrimination, harassment, First Amendment violations, tortious interference, negligent and intentional infliction of emotional harm, and more.
