Montgomery McCracken Partner Christopher Scott D’Angelo Speaks at ACI Drug and Medical Device Litigation Conference

PHILADELPHIA–Montgomery McCracken partner Christopher Scott D’Angelo served as a faculty member at the American Conference Institute (ACI)’s 18th Annual Drug and Medical Device Litigation Conference, held in New York City, December 9 – 11. D’Angelo was a speaker on the program “Coordinating Litigation Efforts Across Borders: Analyzing Product Liability Trends Outside the U.S. and the Impact on U.S.-Based Litigation,” discussing developments and proposals for class actions or collective redress in Europe, coordination of class actions and regulatory enforcement globally and attorney-client privilege in the multijurisdictional context. Other speakers on the program included Kaspar Stoffelmayr, head of litigation, Bayer Corporation; and Adam B. Deutsch, vice president and associate general counsel – litigation, investigations and risk management, Biomet, Inc.

D’Angelo, based in the firm’s Philadelphia and New York offices, is chair of Montgomery McCracken’s Products Liability and Risk Management, Mass Tort Claims and International practice areas. His practice emphasizes litigation and preventive counseling in the fields of business and business torts, intellectual property, class actions, and products liability, including in his role as national counsel for several major U.S. clients and his representation of foreign concerns in the United States and United States concerns abroad. He is a member of The American Law Institute and has participated extensively in the development of several Restatements. He also serves on the Advisory Committee and as faculty of the International Corporate Counsel College of the International Association of Defense Counsel; the Strategic Planning and Bylaws Committees of the Product Liability Advisory Council; the Class Action Working Group of the International Bar Association; the Steering Committee and faculty of the Corporate Counsel Symposium of the Federation of Defense & Corporate Counsel; and is a member of the Defense Research Institute, the Philadelphia Association of Defense Counsel and the American, Pennsylvania and Philadelphia Bar Associations. D’Angelo is a frequent speaker and author on a range of law-related matters. His presentations have involved such topics as products liability and business litigation, multinational litigation, privacy issues, information and documents management and issues involving the internet and the use of the internet in litigation and investigations.

D’Angelo received both his B.A. with distinction and with Honors in History (1975) and his J.D. (1978) from the University of Virginia.
