Sarah Bittner is a patent agent in Montgomery McCracken’s Intellectual Property Department. She focuses her practice on patent preparation and prosecution and assisting with patent counseling, primarily in the chemical and materials arts.

Sarah has experience in the biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, medical device, nanotechnology, polymer, and oil and gas industries. She has represented universities, start-ups, and large corporations. She also has in-house experience with portfolio management and competitive and validity analysis.

Outside of her legal career, Sarah has performed computational and mathematical modeling of molecular vibrations and metallic solidification, and participated in experiments on enzymes and DNA, including separations and synthesis.

Prior to joining Montgomery McCracken, Sarah was a patent agent at a national law firm. Prior to her patent agent career, Sarah was a materials research and development scientist for a computer design and testing start-up.
