Shannon M. McManus is an associate in the firm's Litigation Department. He dedicates his practice to representing clients in litigation in state and federal court in both civil and criminal matters.
Shannon brings a diverse range of legal and professional experience to his practice. Prior to joining Montgomery McCracken, Shannon represented clients at The Law Firm of César de Castro, P.C., where he handled civil and criminal litigation, including multiple federal criminal trials. He was named to Super Lawyers' 2025 list of Rising Stars in criminal defense. Shannon also served as part of the independent entity overseeing the New York City Housing Authority's mold and leak remediation efforts.
In addition to his litigation experience, Shannon serves as a Director on the Board of Directors of GLS Savings Bank, where he chairs the Bank's Audit Committee. His background also includes significant government and public policy experience. Shannon served as Director of Legislative Affairs in the New Jersey Department of the Treasury, where he was a member of the State Treasurer's Senior Staff and served as the Governor's appointment to the Commission on Capital Budgeting and Planning, as well as the Treasurer’s designee on numerous boards, commissions, and authorities. He also held roles in the Office of the Governor of New Jersey, including Director of Departmental and Legislative Affairs in the Office of Community Relations.
Shannon received a J.D. from Fordham University School of Law, where he was a member of the Brendan Moore Trial Advocacy Team and the Environmental Law Review. He earned a B.A. in Economics from the University of Delaware's Alfred Lerner College of Business and Economics, with a minor in History.
