ABOUT THE FIRM

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

At Montgomery McCracken, we value cultivating an equitable and inclusive environment for our attorneys and staff. We recognize that every employee is a vital part of the firm and that diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) helps us serve the needs of our clients. We are proudly committed to providing equal opportunities for all.

We define diversity broadly as the differences among people, including race, culture, ethnicity, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, disability, religion, language, and experiences. Our Diversity Committee is tasked with raising awareness of diversity throughout the firm and the community.

Employee Resource Groups

Within the Committee, our Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) create the space for our attorneys and staff to openly and safely discuss issues, build and maintain an equal and supportive work environment, and support members in their efforts to succeed. Each ERG is chaired by members of the staff and attorneys.

LGBTQ+: The mission of the LGBTQ+ group is to build and maintain an equal and supportive work environment and to promote growth and career development of LGBTQ+ attorneys and staff. Additionally, through recruiting and outreach activities, the group intends to further the representation of LGBTQ+ attorneys and staff members within the firm. This will be accomplished through networking, mentoring, educational and professional programs, community service, LGBTQ+ events, and diversity awareness.

Persons of Color: The mission of the Persons of Color (POC) group is to build and maintain an equal and supportive work environment and to promote the growth and career development of POC. Additionally, through recruiting and outreach activities, the POC group intends to further the representation of POC attorneys and staff members within the firm. This will be accomplished through networking, mentoring, educational and professional programs, community service, multicultural events, and diversity awareness.

Veterans, Disabled, and Neurodiversity: The mission of the Veterans, Disabled, and Neurodiversity group is to foster inclusion, participation, and appreciation of the unique contributions that individuals with disabilities, neurodivergent individuals and veterans make to the fabric of the firm and the clients and communities we serve. By promoting an enriching, healthy, and fulfilling work climate for veterans, individuals with disabilities, and neurodivergent individuals, the group supports the broader goals of respecting and valuing our differences, with the collective understanding that diversity of thought, experience, and expertise make the firm stronger, more productive, and better equipped to address the challenges the group and our clients face.

Women’s Group: The mission of the Women’s Group is to support, promote, and empower the women of Montgomery McCracken and to improve the firm as a whole through the recruitment, retention, and support of women attorneys, staff, and alumni.

midsize MANSFIELD rULE CERTIFICATION

We are a proud participant of the Midsize Mansfield Rule certification managed by Diversity Lab. The goal of the Mansfield Rule is to boost the representation of historically underrepresented lawyers who are considered for entry-level and lateral attorney job openings, leadership opportunities, equity partner promotions, and opportunities to connect with clients.

Law Firm Antiracism Alliance

We are a charter member of the Law Firm Antiracism Alliance (LFAA). The LFAA is a national collaborative effort between nearly 150 law firms, working together to amplify the voices of the communities and individuals oppressed by racism. Dedicated to seeking out and eradicating systemic racism, the LFAA uses the law as a vehicle for meaningful change and to promote racial equity within the legal industry.

Philadelphia Diversity Law Group

We are a founding member of the Philadelphia Diversity Law Group, Inc. (PDLG), which is committed to fostering participation of a more diverse group of lawyers in the Greater Philadelphia Region in order to make the legal profession stronger, more productive, and better equipped to address the challenges of the twenty-first century.
