CCSNJ Workshop Series: Federal Immigration Laws. They Affect EVERY Employer in NJ

April 15, 2011

Federal immigration laws and policies apply to and affect EVERY employer in New Jersey, as well as the United States. Through the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and its Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents, federal enforcement and auditing efforts against employers are at an all-time high. DHS has announced further stepped-up efforts against employers, including more criminal prosecutions and higher civil fines. Several states, including New Jersey and Pennsylvania, have attempted to enter the fray by proposing their own employer sanctions laws and employment verification requirements.

Montgomery McCracken partner Louis R. Moffa will discuss the latest developments, strategies and tactics in these areas.

Visit the Chamber of Commerce Southern New Jersey web site for registration details and directions.
