Competing in the Global Marketplace

Presented by Montgomery McCracken, this CLE program explored the legal challenges faced  by companies operating in the global marketplace.  The topics discussed include the globalization of the economy, acquisition of companies in foreign markets, trends in product liability and class action matters in foreign jurisdictions, the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) and international initiatives addressing ethics of business practices, components for an effective ethics compliance program, and ethical issues in advising clients doing business in foreign matters.

Special guest speaker John Peter Suarez, senior vice president of International Business Development for Walmart joined Montgomery McCracken partners Ellen C. Brotman, a certified compliance and ethics professional and co-chair of the firm’s Professional Responsibility practice, Christopher Scott D’Angelo, Products Liability and Risk Managment practice chair, and Paul H. Zoubek, Government Investigations and White Collar Crime practice chair, as presenters.
