To AirBnB or Not to AirBnB – The Pros, Cons and Legal Implications of Short Term Rentals

The New York City Bar will be hosting a program on the effects of short term rentals in general and the sharing economy in particular upon real estate. The program will address the legal, regulatory and policy frameworks within which to evaluate the issues relating to short term rentals, including the restrictions under rental and co-op leases, condominium bylaws, and existing major affordable housing programs, as well as the enforcement difficulties faced by landlords, co-op and condo boards.

Honorable Jack Stoller, Housing Court, Civil Court of the City of New York, New York County will present opening remarks. The discussion will be moderated by Charles Bagli, Reporter with The New York Times and speakers include David Hantman, Founder & CEO, Hantman Strategies; Senator Liz Krueger, NYS Senate, District 28 and Daniel L. Parcerisas, Senior Policy Analyst, Citizens Housing & Planning Council.
