Even five years of forced pause, mostly due to the Covid-19 pandemic, couldn’t break the momentum of an event that had quickly become a key fixture for international shipping professionals: the Maritime Symposium in Naples. After successful editions in 2018 and 2019, the third edition finally returned in 2025, organized once again by Gallagher Marine Systems and its supporting partners.

Held in early July – splitting the difference between the spring and autumn dates of previous editions – the symposium made a full comeback with its original format and high standards. Despite sweltering temperatures, the event went ahead seamlessly thanks to thoughtful planning and the commitment of both organizers and hosts.

Maritime lawyer Kaspar Kielland of Montgomery McCracken (New York), a veteran of previous editions, discussed U.S. strategies for managing marine casualties.
