Practice to Help Clients in Green Industries as well as Clients

PHILADELPHIA, August 25, 2008 – As green business and building practices continue to proliferate, Montgomery McCracken announces the firm has launched its Sustainable Business practice. The practice is co-chaired by Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Accredited Professional (LEED® AP) and attorney Tricia J. Sadd and labor and employment counsel R. Monica Hennessy.
The practice will serve a growing client base in a number of areas including: representing investors in sustainable business ventures; developing sustainable employment policies and practices, such as establishing “green collar” jobs, providing statutory compliance advice, and instituting and implementing employee training protocols and in-house dispute resolution practices; providing advice on green marketing campaigns and materials; and advising on compliance issues associated with FTC and state “Green Guides,” business agreements to acquire, develop, and operate green or sustainable building projects, such as land use and zoning approvals and permits required for the development of green or sustainable building projects, and available tax credits and other alternative energy incentives for sustainable practices and construction projects.
“Companies have begun to recognize the myriad of ways in which they can improve performance, productivity, and profitability through sustainable business initiatives,” said Monica Hennessy. “Our practice,” explains Tricia Sadd, “will help clients integrate sustainable initiatives into any part of their businesses, as well as provide counsel to companies looking to capitalize on the booming sustainable industry marketplace.”
Members of Montgomery McCracken’s real estate, labor and employment, litigation, environmental, construction, corporate, tax and nonprofit disciplines comprise the practice. In addition to Sadd, who is one of only four LEED® AP attorneys in Pennsylvania, the practice also includes an industrial hygienist.
