Edward J. Heffernan serves as of counsel in Montgomery McCracken’s Litigation Department. Ed concentrates his practice on commercial litigation, with a particular focus on the consumer financial services industry. He represents financial institutions, lenders, and service providers in a wide range of disputes, including contract claims, business torts, regulatory matters, and class actions.
Ed’s practice includes substantial experience in restrictive covenant litigation and the defense of employers against a broad range of workplace claims, including allegations of discrimination, retaliation, wrongful termination, and defamation. He also regularly handles matters involving the enforcement of employment agreements, trade secret misappropriation, and the protection of proprietary business information. In both litigation and arbitration settings, Ed has experience representing clients in disputes involving incentive compensation, breaches of fiduciary duty, and complex financial and regulatory issues affecting the financial services industry. Ed has appeared in state and federal courts across the country and has represented clients before regulatory and administrative agencies. Before entering the legal profession, Ed worked as a Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) licensed representative for a national mutual fund company.
Ed received his B.A. from Temple University. He received his J.D. from Villanova University School of Law, where he was a member of the Villanova University School of Law Moot Court Board and Order of the Coif.
