Montgomery McCracken partner Christopher Scott D’Angelo spoke at the International Corporate Counsel College (ICCC) in Brussels, Belgium in October 2016. D’Angelo served as the moderator and spoke on “Data Privacy – No More Safe Harbour: Cross-Border Discovery and Compliance with Data Protection Laws. He is one of the founders and a past director of, and is on the faculty of the ICCC, which is held in Europe each fall and draws participants from around the world.

The ICCC is an interactive forum that addresses the very latest and coming legal issues of particular importance to in-house corporate counsel in Europe and internationally. It is a unique place where in-house lawyers can discuss issues of concern among themselves and with their outside defence counsel in a dynamic workshop of practical information and analysis. The event is designed primarily for in-house counsel of corporations; outside counsel also are welcome, provided they come with one or more in-house counsel. The ICCC is presented each year by the International Association of Defense Counsel, which is the oldest international association of lawyers representing major corporations, both in-house and outside counsel. The upcoming annual ICCC will be held in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, in November 2017.

D’Angelo is chairman of the International Practice and co-chairman of the Products Liability, Mass Claims & Risk Management Section at Montgomery McCracken, based in its Philadelphia, PA and New York, NY offices. His practice emphasizes litigation and preventive counseling in the fields of business and business torts, corporate litigation, intellectual property, class actions, products liability and mass claims, construction and risk management, including in his role as national counsel for several major U.S. clients and his representation of foreign concerns in the United States and United States concerns abroad, as well as litigation and other matters in the probate courts. D’Angelo is a member of The American Law Institute, the International Association of Defense Counsel, the Product Liability Advisory Council, the Defense Research Institute, the International Bar Association, the Federation of Defense & Corporate Counsel, the Sports & Fitness Industry Association Legal Task Force, the Philadelphia Association of Defense Counsel, and the American, Pennsylvania and Philadelphia Bar Associations.

D’Angelo is a frequent speaker and author on law-related matters. His articles, books and presentations have involved topics such as products liability and business litigation, class actions, multi-national litigation, attorney-client privilege, privacy, FCPA and other anti-corruption and bribery regimes and requirements, information and documents management, alternative dispute resolution regimes, and issues involving the internet and the use of the internet in litigation and investigations.

D’Angelo is listed in Guide to the World’s Leading Product Liability Lawyers, The International Who’s Who of Commercial Lawyers, The International Who’s Who of Product Liability Lawyers, Pennsylvania Super Lawyers, and Who’s Who in American Law. He received both his B.A. with distinction and with honors in History (1975) and his J.D. (1978) from the University of Virginia.
