Montgomery McCracken is pleased to announce that Edward L. Schnitzer has been selected as the Co-Chair of the American Bankruptcy Institute’s Mediation Committee.

The American Bankruptcy Institute is the nation’s largest association of bankruptcy professionals, made up of over 12,000 members in multi-disciplinary roles, including attorneys, auctioneers, bankers, judges, lenders, professors, turnaround specialists, accountants and others. ABI is committed to serving members with high-quality conferences, comprehensive continuing education, effective legal research, and dynamic networking opportunities. The Mediation Committee focuses on the use of mediation in resolving disputes in bankruptcy cases.

Schnitzer is the chair of Montgomery McCracken’s Bankruptcy and Financial Restructuring Department. He focuses his practice on bankruptcy and reorganization matters. He has experience representing unsecured creditor committees, litigation and liquidation trustees, debtors, banks, equity committees, and creditors in all aspects of bankruptcy practice, with particular focus on bankruptcy litigation, including the prosecution and defense of preferences, fraudulent transfers, and other avoidance actions, claims objections, and collection and turnover actions. Schnitzer is a court-approved bankruptcy mediator and speaks and publishes regularly on various mediation topics.
