Conflicts In and Around the Orphans’ Court – A View From the Bench and From the Trenches

Montgomery McCracken partner Howard Vigderman will be speaking at the Philadelphia Bar Association 2017 Bench-Bar & Annual Conference on October 13, 2017 in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Howard will be a panelist on the program “Conflicts In and Around the Orphans’ Court – A View From the Bench and From the Trenches.”

Two of Philadelphia’s three Orphans’ Court judges, will examine conflicts that arise every day in matters involving family, illness, death and money. On the estate planning side, the panel will explore such potential conflicts as representing both spouses in a marriage, representation of family members in family business succession planning and representing more than one generation of a family in estate planning. On the fiduciary-litigation front, panelists will discuss conflict issues that can infect guardianship litigation, will contest litigation, power of attorney abuse litigation and other Orphans’ Court matters.
