Montgomery McCracken Walker & Rhoads LLP has added a former Weitz & Luxenberg PC attorney and seasoned litigation specialist to its team in Philadelphia.
Benjamin Goldman joined the firm in an of counsel capacity on Monday after about a year and a half with Weitz & Luxenberg’s office in Cherry Hill, New Jersey, where he represented plaintiffs in on toxic tort and other complex personal injury matters.
He joined Weitz in June 2022 after more than a decade spent running his own criminal defense practices, first in Detroit, and then in Toronto.
Whether it’s criminal or civil work, plaintiffs’ side or defense, he was a born litigator, Goldman told Law360 in an interview on Wednesday.
“There is a cultural shift from defense firms to plaintiffs firms, but I really strive to focus on the facts and the structure of the argument in any case that I’m trying,” he said. “In terms of the skillset, it’s very similar. There’s some transition in terms of getting acclimated to different areas of law, but the work of litigating and being a trial lawyer is very much the same.”
