NEW YORK, NY (November 10, 2016)– Montgomery McCracken has received the “Restructuring Deal of the Year (Over $100MM)” award by the M&A Advisor at the 15th Annual M&A Advisor Awards. The Firm was recognized as part of a deal team for its involvement in the Chapter 11 cases of O.W. Bunker Holding North America Inc., O.W. Bunker North America Inc. and O.W. Bunker USA Inc. These cases were precipitated by the sudden collapse of OWB Denmark, which had been the world’s largest marine fuel supplier, causing a flood of litigation throughout the global maritime industry and giving rise to unprecedented bankruptcy and maritime issues.

“We’re certainly proud of the result achieved,” said Natalie Ramsey, chair of the firm’s Creditor’s Rights and Bankruptcy practice. The team successfully obtained confirmation of O.W. Bunker Debtors’ liquidation plans in December 2015.

Ramsey added, “This representation pulled together a skilled interdisciplinary team from Montgomery McCracken with in-depth knowledge and experience in both maritime and bankruptcy law. This recognition reflects our firm’s capabilities as a key advisor in unique area of complex maritime bankruptcies.”

The Montgomery McCracken team included: Ramsey, Richard G. Placey, Davis Lee Wright, and Mark A. Fink from the firm’s Creditors’ Rights and Bankruptcy practice group; and Vincent M. DeOrchis, Robert E. O’Connor, and Kaspar Kielland from the firm’s Maritime and Transportation practice group.
