Montgomery McCracken Launches Class Action Defense Blog

Montgomery McCracken is pleased to announce that the firm has launched Ahead of the Class, a legal blog focused on class action defense. Contributing to the blog will be Charles Casper, chair of the Class Action Defense practice; as well as partners Peter Breslauer and John Papianou; and of counsel Kristen Polovoy. Ahead of the Class will address current cases and decisions, trends and strategies associated with class action lawsuits.
In addition to serving as chair of the Montgomery McCracken’s Class Action Defense practice, Casper is also a member of the firm’s management committee. His practice emphasizes the defense of consumer and antitrust class actions, computer software and hardware litigation, complex commercial litigation and environmental litigation matters including environmental insurance coverage. Since 1993, Casper has served as national class action counsel to Microsoft Corporation in its class actions in federal and state courts, including consumer and indirect-purchaser antitrust class actions.
Breslauer focuses his practice on complex commercial litigation, including the defense of class-action, antitrust, products liability and intellectual property cases. Breslauer has extensive experience in the defense of nationwide class action litigation, including many cases involving the performance of computer operating systems, hardware, application and development software, and online services brought against Microsoft Corporation or its subsidiaries.
Papianou concentrates his practice in complex civil litigation, with particular emphasis on consumer class actions involving claims under state consumer protection statutes. He has counseled and represented numerous clients in consumer class actions across the country, including Microsoft Corp., Tommy Hilfiger, USA, PVH Corp., Fitness International, LLC and a Fortune 100 retailer.
Polovoy practices in all aspects of civil litigation defense in New Jersey and Pennsylvania state and federal courts. Her experience includes general and complex commercial litigation with a focus on consumer fraud class action defense of consumer product manufacturers.
