Montgomery McCracken Partner Joel B. Rosen Appointed to New Jersey Supreme Court and Federal Court Committee Positions

CHERRY HILL, NEW JERSEY – Montgomery McCracken is pleased to announce partner Joel B. Rosen was recently designated as Vice-Chair of the Disciplinary Oversight Committee of the New Jersey Supreme Court and Chair of the U.S. Magistrate Judge Reappointment Panel for the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey, Camden vicinage.
The Disciplinary Oversight Committee of the New Jersey Supreme Court consists of 11 members to assist the Court as an advisory body in administering the attorney disciplinary system. The Committee also provides the Court with information and recommendations on personnel and other operational matters that affect the budget as such matters arise throughout the fiscal year.
As Chair of the U.S. Magistrate Judge Reappointment Panel for the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey, Rosen will oversee the merit selection panel that will consider the reappointment of a U.S. Magistrate Judge for the Camden vicinage. Rosen previously served as a former U.S. Magistrate Judge from 1987 to 2006.
Rosen concentrates his practice in alternative dispute resolution. He has mediated thousands of cases, and presided over numerous civil jury and bench trials and criminal misdemeanor trials. He has negotiated multimillion dollar settlements and resolved all manner of complex cases and class actions in the areas of employment law, commercial law, environmental law, intellectual property, antitrust, admiralty, civil rights, construction law and torts. Rosen has also served as a court-appointed Special Master in both state and federal courts, in matters involving mass torts, environmental issues, insurance coverage disputes, as well as a variety of class actions.
He received his J.D. degree with honors in 1973 from Rutgers University School of Law – Camden, where he was managing editor of the Law Journal. Rosen received a B.A. degree from Colgate University in 1969.
