 Conference Attracts Administrators, Educators and General Counsel From Around the Country

Montgomery McCracken attorney John M. Myers joined a national slate of legal and academic professionals at the 21st Annual Legal Issues in Higher Education Conference, held recently at The University of Vermont.  Meyers co-presented a segment entitled “Internet Communications in the Academic Environment: Rewards and Complications.” Agenda topics included campus threat assessment and management, social justice, privacy in the digital age, hazing prevention strategies and liability issues, gun control and weapons on campus, student safety, student disciplinary hearings, dealing with disabled staff and students, CLERY Act, social media, and cyber bullying, among others.  The audience was comprised of higher education administrators and lawyers from around the country.

Myers, with over twenty years of private practice experience, concentrates his practice on commercial litigation, appellate litigation, commercial litigation, labor & employment, and higher education law. He spoke on the rewards and complications of electronic communication in academia.
