Ashley R. Lynam Elected to the Board of Directors for the Upper Main Line YMCA

Montgomery McCracken is pleased to announce that partner Ashley R. Lynam has been elected to the Board of Directors for the Upper Main Line YMCA (“UMLY”). UMLY is part of an association of eight YMCAs that offer life-changing programs for children, families, and adults throughout Chester County. With more than 80,000 members annually, each YMCA in the association features unique facilities and programs that best reflect the needs and interests of their communities.

Lynam is a partner in Montgomery McCracken’s Litigation Department, Chair of the firm’s Sexual Misconduct Liability Practice Group and Institutional Response Practice Group, and Co-Chair of the firm’s Higher Education Practice Group and Digital Crisis Management Practice Group. She concentrates her practice on the investigation and defense of claims for clients including high profile commercial organizations, sports teams, homeowners, hotels, educational institutions, charitable and social services organizations and more.

Lynam has extensive prior board experience, particularly in the non-profit and educational settings, offering practical, legal, and mission-driven management and advice in those roles. She is an advisory board member of the Villanova University Charles Widger School of Law’s Alumni Association, an executive board member of Villanova’s Institute to Address Commercial Sexual Exploitation, and a board member of the Salvation Army of Greater Philadelphia.

Lynam received her J.D. degree, cum laude, from Villanova University Charles Widger School of Law where she was Executive Member of the Moot Court Board. She graduated with a B.S. degree, summa cum laude, from Villanova University where she was President of the nationally ranked mock trial team. Lynam is a member of the Philadelphia and Pennsylvania Bar Association.

Upper Main Line YMCA is located on a scenic 54-acre campus in Berwyn, Pennsylvania that features a fitness center with a wide variety of training equipment, four outdoor and two indoor swimming pools, and basketball gyms.  UMLY also boasts a large Nature Center featuring goats, reptiles, raptors, chickens, and a wide variety of gardens and educational nature programs. UMLY membership offers access to hundreds of group exercise classes, full use of all facilities, and drop-in childcare.
