Kathleen O’Brien Selected as Awardee for the Philadelphia Bar Association Business Law Section’s 2019 Dennis H. Replansky Memorial Award

PHILADELPHIA, PA – Montgomery McCracken is pleased to announce that Kathleen O’Brien has been selected as an awardee for the Philadelphia Bar Association Business Law Section’s 2019 Dennis H. Replansky Memorial Award. She will be honored at the Business Law Section Annual Reception on February 13, 2020 at the Pyramid Club in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. To register, please click here.

Dennis H. Replansky, a former Business Law Section Chair, was a 51-year old senior partner at the law firm of Blank Rome Comisky & McCauley when he died in March 1994. The Section established the Award in recognition of Dennis Replansky’s career as a lawyer and his contributions to legal, civic, religious, and other charitable causes. The Award recipient has the privilege of designating a public interest organization to receive the Section’s annual charitable contribution.

O’Brien is a partner in Montgomery McCracken’s Corporate and Securities and Business Succession Planning practices. Her practice includes general corporate, finance and banking, mergers and acquisitions and closely-held businesses. She counsels financial institutions on commercial lending transactions and individuals and business owners on a wide range of corporate matters including entity formation, shareholder and partner issues, governance, and acquisition and divestiture.

O’Brien is the recipient of the Advocate for Women’s Business Award from the Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce in recognition of her work with women business owners. She was also the recipient of the National Association of Women Business Owners’ Women to Watch and Public Policy Advocate Awards and the Philadelphia Business Journal’s  Women of Distinction Award. She was also named one of the Fifty Best Women in Business in Pennsylvania and the SBA Champion of the Year for Women in Business by both the Philadelphia District and Region III of the Small Business Administration Award.

O’Brien received her J.D. degree from the University of Pennsylvania Law School, a M.Ed. degree in Counseling and School Psychology from Boston College, and her B.S. degree, with honors, from the University of Pennsylvania.
