Partner, Founder’s Grandson Returns to Montgomery McCracken

A lawyer with deep ties to Montgomery McCracken Walker & Rhoads has re-joined the firm as a partner after nearly a decade away, making him the fifth partner to boomerang back to the firm in less than two years.

Commercial litigator Stephen Rhoads previously spent more than two decades at Montgomery McCracken, practicing there from 1986 to 2009, before making a move to a smaller firm, Gawthrop Greenwood, where he served as a member of the latter’s management committee.

“On a personal level I’m gratified to be back at the firm that he helped found,” Rhoads said. He noted, however, that he has “really had to stand on my own two feet” at the firm and not just rely on his family name and grandfather’s legacy.
