Partner Louis R. Moffa, Jr. Joins Montgomery McCracken’s Alternative Dispute Resolution Team

Cherry Hill, NJ – Montgomery McCracken is pleased to announce that Louis R. Moffa, Jr., a Partner and General Counsel to the firm, has joined the firm’s Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) practice group, offering services in mediation and arbitration in complex commercial cases. Moffa has extensive experience handling mediations and arbitrators, both as an advocate and neutral. Moffa will join his partner Joel B. Rosen, United States Magistrate Judge (Ret.), in servicing clients across the mid-Atlantic region in mediation and arbitration.
“I’m excited to have Lou formally join the ADR team,” said Rosen. “Lou brings a wealth of experience in arbitration and mediation, and his perspective as a trial attorney adds a new dimension to our practice.”
Moffa has more than three decades of experience as a practicing attorney. He is an accomplished trial and appellate litigator who has handled matters in state and federal courts across the country. His litigation practice includes commercial and construction contracts, civil rights and constitutional torts, business torts, shareholder disputes, employment discrimination and wrongful termination. Moffa has extensive experience handling mediations and arbitrators, and has handled disputes ranging in size from several thousand to multimillion dollar amounts.
“I am looking forward to working alongside Joel Rosen in bringing top quality ADR services to the region,” said Moffa. “It is a welcome expansion of my complex litigation practice.”
Moffa is active in the legal community and has held leadership positions in multiple organizations. He is the immediate past-President of the Camden County Bar Association, a member of the Board of Trustees of the Camden County Bar Foundation, a Fellow in the Litigation Counsel of America and a member of the American Bar Association, New Jersey State Bar Association and District of Columbia Bar Association. He is an adjunct professor at Rutgers School of Law-Camden and at the University of Delaware in the Lerner School of Business and Economics. Moffa serves as a trustee and vice chairman of the board for the Camden County College Foundation. He is also a member of the Board of Directors of the American Red Cross – Camden County Chapter.
Moffa received a J.D., magna cum laude, from Georgetown University Law Center in 1982 where he was an editor of Law and Policy in International Business, the Georgetown International Law Journal. He graduated from Georgetown University with a B.S.B.A., magna cum laude, in 1979.
