David S. Blum Appointed to Serve as Chair of the Board of Trustees of St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children

PHILADELPHIA, PA – Montgomery McCracken is pleased to announce that partner David S. Blum has been appointed by STC Healthcare Partners, LLC, a partnership of Tower Health and Drexel University, to serve as chair of the newly constituted Board of Trustees of St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children. St. Christopher’s Hospital has been a leader in pediatric care since 1875. The hospital’s nationally recognized programs and pediatric specialists provide exceptional care to children from throughout the Greater Philadelphia area and around the world.

Montgomery McCracken has a long-standing history of supporting philanthropic endeavors and Blum’s appointment continues an important legacy of the firm. Former Montgomery McCracken chairs Stephen A. Madva and Ralph W. Brenner have both served as chair of the Board of Governors of St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children. Blum served as a member of the Board of Governors of St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children between January 2015 and December 2019 when it was owned by Tenet Healthcare and later by Pennsylvania Academic Health Systems. He served as board chair between January 2018 and December 2019.

Blum is a partner and chair of Montgomery McCracken’s Real Estate Practice Group. In his practice, he represents property owners, developers, investors and leasing and institutions in acquisition and sales transactions, debt and equity financing, leasing and condominium creation and in matters involving property ownership, development and management. He routinely represents multifamily, commercial and retail projects.

Blum’s practice also involves representation of institutional and entrepreneurial clients, including architects, brokers, and nonprofit organizations in transactions involving the creation of corporations, partnerships, and other business enterprises, purchase and sale of real estate and business assets, development and lease of office and programmatic space, resolution of lease disputes, and analysis of zoning, code compliance, and assessment issues.

Blum received his J.D. from University of California, Berkeley School of Law and his B.S., magna cum laude, from Georgetown University.
