A. Nicole Phillips Elected to Serve as Judge for the Montgomery County Court of Common Pleas

Montgomery McCracken is extremely pleased to announce that A. Nicole Phillips has been elected to serve as Judge for the Montgomery County Court of Common Pleas. Phillips, located in the firm’s Philadelphia office, is a partner in the firm’s White Collar and Government Investigations Practice Group.
“We are incredibly proud of Nicole and her well-deserved election to serve the residents of Montgomery County as a Judge of the Court of Common Pleas,” said Louis A. Petroni, Chairman of Montgomery McCracken. “We know Nicole will do great things.”
Prior to joining Montgomery McCracken, Phillips served as an Assistant United States Attorney in the Criminal Division of the United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. Nicole handled a wide array of criminal matters, including complex large-scale drug trafficking conspiracies, public corruption, tax offenses, bank fraud conspiracies, and Hobbs Act robbery. Nicole also prepared appellate briefs submitted to the Third Circuit Court of Appeals.
Phillips was a member of the U.S. Attorney’s Office’s hiring committee and participated in the Eastern District of Pennsylvania’s Supervision to Aid Reentry (“STAR”) program, assisting individuals reenter society after serving federal sentences. Nicole also served as an adjunct professor for the Federal Criminal Practice clinical course at Temple University Beasley School of Law.

Before serving as an Assistant United States Attorney, Phillips was an Assistant District Attorney in the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office, where she prosecuted hundreds of cases for offenses ranging from robbery, rape/sexual assault, domestic violence drug trafficking and attempted murder. She also prepared letter briefs and argued before the Pennsylvania Superior Court during her time in the Appellate Division.
Phillips earned her law degree from Northeastern University and her B.A. degree, cum laude, in Political Science from Spelman College.
