Georgette Castner Nominated to Serve as a United States District Court Judge in New Jersey

Montgomery McCracken is extremely pleased to announce that Georgette Fries Castner has been nominated by President Joseph R. Biden Jr. to serve as a United States District Court Judge in New Jersey. Castner, located in the firm’s Cherry Hill office, is a partner in the firm’s Litigation Department.
“Georgette has been a wonderful colleague to so many since joining the firm in 2007,” said Louis A. Petroni, Chairman of Montgomery McCracken. “There is no doubt she will be a great addition to the bench. We wish her well as she moves through the nomination process.”
Castner, co-chair of the firm’s Cannabis Law Practice Group and a member of the firm’s Diversity Committee, focuses her practice on complex commercial litigation and white collar and government investigations and represents individuals, businesses and government entities in a range of industries.
Castner currently serves on the New Jersey Supreme Court Committee on Character and the New Jersey Supreme Court Committee on Model Civil Jury Charges.
Prior to joining Montgomery McCracken, Castner served as a law clerk for the Honorable Joseph F. Lisa of the New Jersey Superior Court, Appellate Division. Prior to law school, Georgette served as Chief of Staff and Director of Constituent Affairs for a member of the New Jersey General Assembly. She managed the Legislative District Office and staff, coordinated the member’s legislative agenda and bill drafting, and negotiated bill drafts and amendments with committee aides, lobbyists, and other interest groups.
Castner earned a law degree, with honors, from Rutgers University School of Law – Camden, where she was selected as a Governor’s Executive Fellow and served as Research Editor for the Rutgers Law Journal, and earned her B.S. degree, cum laude, from The College of New Jersey.
